Lois F. Ravenscroft, 70, of Miller, S.D., died Sunday, April 11, 1999 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 15, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the first United Methodist Church in Miller with the Rev. Richard Gould officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Lawrence. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at Reck Funeral Home in Miller.

Lois Faye Bute was born June 28, 1928 in Hand County to Melvin and Esther Ofstad) Bute. She attended school in Miller and graduated from Miller High School in 1947. She worked at Jones Drug prior to her marriage.

On October 28, 1951, she married Clair Ravenscroft. During the early years of their marriage, she babysat children and was active in her children's and family's activities. When her children were grown, she began working at Prairie Good Samaritan Center and worked there for 17 years.

Survivors include her husband, Clair; three sons, Joe and special friend Carla of Seattle, Wash., Scott (Roberta) of North Pole, Alaska, Todd (Wendy) of Huron; two grandsons, Carl and Ryan; one granddaughter, Sara; two sisters, Florence Henson of Bayard, Neb., Helen Ray of Pipestone, Minn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert; and one granddaughter, Amanda.
