Norbert E. Blanken, 58, of 734 E. Lake, Peoria Heights, an accountant at WABCO, died at 4:15 a.m. yesterday at Methodist Hospital where he was admitted June 1.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, National Association of Accountants, the YMCA and worked on many United Fund drives.
Born April 23, 1914, in Hensley, he was a son of Theodore L. and Mathilda Weber Blanken and married Virginia Salyards July 5, 1941, in Peoria.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, David L. and Randy A., both at home; three brothers, Edein of Sun City, Ariz., Alfred of Woodale and Herbert of Wheaton; one niece and two nephews. His parents and one brother, Marcus, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Cumerford-Endsley Memorial Home, 203 NE Perry, with the Rev. R. E. Stuckwisch officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
