Funeral services for the Rev. Otis Thomas Flowers, 51, who died unexpectedly Sunday night in a Huntington, W. Va. hotel, will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday from Whitten Funeral Home with burial in Presbyterian Cemetery. Flowers who lived on Rt. 3 was pastor of Greenstone Baptist Tabernacle. Born in Prince Edward County March 10, 1909. Flowers was the son of the late Rev. James Thomas Flowers and Rena Mann Flowers. Mr. Flowers had been pastor of the Greenstone Tabernacle for the past 16 years and before that he was employed for a number of years by Craddock-Terry Shoe Corp. Flowers father was a Disciples of Christ minister for many years in the Lynchburg area. Flowers was ordained a minister of the Independent Baptist Church in North Carolina. He had been instrumental in organizing Independent Baptist Churches outside of Lynchburg, one of them being the Mount View Baptist Church in Concord. Surviving are his widow, the former Ethel Webber, two daughters, Mrs. R. B. Baber of Lynchburg and Miss Coretha Flowers of Rt. 3, two sons, Harry Thomas Flowers of Rt. 3 and Charlie Glenmore Flowers of Rt. 2 and 14 grandchildren.
