From the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Feb. 7, 1905:

After a lingering illness, Allen Clayton Atkinson died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Alice Boyd Atkinson, yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.

Mr. Atkinson was in the thirty-third year of his age, and had spent most of his life in this city, where he had a host of friends. During his long illness he bore with great fortitude his intense sufferings.

He was the son of the late William Hayes Atkinson. Besides his mother, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Atkinson Garthright and Miss Alice R. Atkinson, and two brothers, William Boyd Atkinson, of Clifton Forge, and Hunter Atkinson.
