Born in Jasper County, he was a son of Edwin Eady and Hattie Beaufort Eady.
Mr. Eady was raised and educated in Robertsville. When he moved to Sumter County, he became a long-standing member of First Baptist Church. He was employed by Avery Lumber Company for more than 20 years and later became a self-employed contractor in carpentry.
He is survived by five sons, Willie "Billy” Eady, Edwin Eady, Donald Eady and Ronald Eady, all of Sumter. and Paul Eady of Miami; two daughters, Sandra F. Cooley of Sumter and Katie Gibson of Manhattan. N.Y.; two brothers, Samuel Eady of Springfield, Mass. , and Fred Eady of Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Mary Riley of Robertsville; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 pm. Sunday at Hillside Memorial park.
