Mrs. Sallie E. Bledsoe, wife of Mr. W. H. Bledsoe, died of consumption at her home, near
Fillmore in this parish Feb 15, 1900 aged 45 years
1 month and 20 days.
Mrs. Bledsoe was the daughter of William J. and
M. E. Arnold, and was born in Cowetta Co. Georgia.
Dec 25 1854. She came to this parish with her parents in 1858 when a child, where she made her
home until her death. December 1 1870 she married
Mr. W. H. Bledsoe who is well known and esteemed in Bossier Parish, as an honored and trustworthy
gentleman. Nine Children blessed this union, seven
of whom are living to comfort and cheer the lonely years that strech before their father, sorely bereft of the compaion of his joys and sorrows.
Mrs. Bledsoe was a noble woman and a sincere Christian. She was quiet in her tastes, devoting her life chiefly to her family and the home; but, her infulence was felt far beyond this sacred precinct. A loving wife, mother and friend has been called from "strifeland into life land" and earth will be poorer for her absence. The Sympathy of Banner is warmly extended the family in their bereavemant.
The burial services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Hickson of Mt. Lebanon and the remains were tenderly laid away in the family burial grounds on the Bledsoe place, there to res4t until the ressuredction morn.
