Daniel Unwin, a native of Canada,
and for the past five years a
resident of Malone, passed away at
the home of his son at 182 Elm St.
Friday evening following an illness
of three weeks. He was 87 years of
age and by occupation a wood
dealer.
Born in the vicinity of Three
Rivers, Canada, the deceased moved
to the United States shortly after
the Civil War and has since
made his home in this country. He
lived for some time in Vermont and
was married in that state. His wife
preceded him in death 23 years ago.
Mr. Unwin was a member of the
Congregational Church in Chester,
Vt., but the infirmities of age prevented
his attending church often
in recent years. The remains were
taken to Chester, Vt., and funeral
services conducted Sunday afternoon.
Surviving" are two sons, Wayne
of Malone, and Simon of Grafton,
N. Y., and two grandsons, Wayne and Philip of Malone.
