Tressy Fay [Williams] Shouse, wife of Frances A. Shouse, Medicine Lodge, Ks. Daughter of Floyd Emmett & Mary Adams [Waters] Williams, Medicine Lodge, Ks. Grand daughter of John Wesley & Amanda Jane [Williams] Williams, Lawrence, Ks. Grand daughter of Thomas James "T.J." & Angelia F. [Adams] Waters, Lyon, Co. Ks. Tressy lived in Carrollton, Mo. & worked as a clerk, in a drug store. Tressy also played the piano by ear, and played for dances in her younger years with her brothers, & sisters. Graveside services for Mrs. Tressy Fay Shouse, 82, of Carrollton, were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Carroll Memory Gardens with the Rev. Walter Cox officiating. Mrs. Shouse, who died Saturday, Jan. 16 at Kelling Hospital in Waverly, was born Oct. 7, 1899 in Admire, Kan., the daughter of Floyd Emmet and Mary Adams Waters Williams. She was married to Francis A. Shouse who preceded her in death in 1955. She was employed as a clerk at Fellers Rexall Drugs for 20 years and prior to that had lived in St. Joseph and Medicine Lodge, Kan. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Medicine Lodge. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs., J. C. [Sylvia] Samples, Carrollton ; two brothers, Vess O. Williams, Parsons, Kan., and Guy Williams., state of Mew Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel McEndree, LaHarpe. Kan.,---Added by Lloyd Williams The other sister was Ruby M. [Williams] Bragg of Kansas. John W. Williams, was a native of the state of New York, and his wife was born in Fulton County, Illinois. They were married in Michigan, where they resided until October, 1850, when they moved to Fulton County, Illinois. In 1855, they located in Kansas, where Mr. Williams engaged in farming. He was a blacksmith by trade and followed that occupation many years. He died June 1, 1885, and his widow died at Rock, in March, 1898. They reared the following children: George H.; Stephen D., who died in Douglass, Kansas, in 1894; Justus F., who was a stock raiser, and resided in Wyoming; John F., who was a farmer and stock breeder, and resided in Osage County, Kansas; Christopher V., who was a harness maker, and lived in Osage County, Kansas; Ella J., deceased, who was the wife of Peter Taylor; Ida E., who was the wife of T. Stephens, of Lawrence, Kansas; Abraham L., who was a stone mason; Limon P., who resided near Rock, Kansas, and was a gardener; Arthur W., who was a farmer in Kansas; and Floyd E., who was a farmer of Lyon County, Kansas.
