Tommy Ray Sharber, 66, of Amarillo died Tuesday, July 10, 2012.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, with Calvin Powell officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S.
Georgia St.

Mr. Sharber was born Sept. 25, 1945, in Whitesboro to Lee Ray Sharber and LeDona Duvak. He married Denny Hanke on Sept. 29, 1994.

He received an associate degree in law enforcement from Clarendon College and served as McLean's sheriff for a number of years. He worked at Amarillo National Bank.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Denny; two sons, Denny Ray and Erik Ray Sharber and wife Mary; three grandchildren, Travis Sharber, Cameron Sharber and Kayla Sharber; his siblings, Ronald and Vera Sharber and Dale and LaJuana Sharber; and special friends, Julie Byer and Marcella Black.

The family suggests memorials be to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 6600 Killgore Drive, Suite 110, Amarillo, TX 79106; or Pullman Road Baptist Church, 11701 Deer Trail, Amarillo, TX 79118.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Southwest for its great care.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
