Almedia Rossman was born at Butler, Michigan, July 23, 1849, where she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to Geroge L. Warner January 1,1870. Nine children came to bless their home: namely Mrs. May Batcher, of Hart, Mich. Edd Warner, Herbert Warner and Mrs Blanche Roberts, all of Johnson Kansas, Mrs. Ollie Hubbell, who passed away at her home in Valley township, Hodgeman county, Nov. 30, 1920, Mrs, Nellie Gaskill of Litchfield, Mich., Mrs Marion Hubbell of Bellfonte, Kans., Albert F. Warner, of Oakland, Calif. and George Warner, who died in infancy.
In 1885 Mrs. Warner with her husband and family moved to Hodgeman county, Kansas and settled on their homestead eleven miles northwest of Jetmore where they lived 15 years. In 1900 they returned to Michigan where they resided for seven years after which they returned to Kansas and lived on a farm near Spearvlle, until they moved to Stanton county in 1916.
Eleven years ago Mrs. Warner suffered a stroke of paralysis while visiting relatives in Michigan and has been an invalid since that time. On January 7, 1925 she had a second stroke and has been bedfast ever since at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blanche Roberts, where she and her husband have made their home for most of the past nine years. During that time her sweet, patient endurance and sunny disposition won the admiration of everyone who knew her and shown forth as an inspiration to those who knew her in her suffering.
The older residents of Hodgeman county who associated with her during her more active years need not be reminded of her true worth and splendid example of loving devotion to home, family and friends.
Mrs Warner passed away on March 10, 1926 at the age of 76 7months and 17 days. She is survived by her husband, seven children, one sister, Mrs. Wlla Rose of Jackson, Mich., twenty-one grand-children and twelve great grand-chldren.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Mix, were held at the Roberts home in Stanton county , at 2 o'clock , Thursday aftenoon. The body was then brought to Jetmore where services were held in the Mehodist church conducted by Rev. Stipe, assisted by Rev. Danley.
The many friends who were present and the beautiful flowers paid loving tribute to the memory of the loved one who had passed from our midst. The body was laid to rest in Fairmount cemetery.
