Michael Hugh Brady, 68, of Farmdale, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a brief and gallant battle with cancer.

He was born August 24, 1941 in Warren, the son of Reed George and Jessie Louise (Behler) Brady, and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.

A 1958 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Mr. Brady was an avid racer at the drag strip in Howland during his teen years, and won championships in D-stock at the Thompson Drag Strip, racing a 1957 Chevy convertible and later a 1960 bronze Chevy. He worked as a welder at Taylor Winfield, and retired as a machine repairman from Packard Electric in 1999 after 34 years of employment.

Mr. Brady belonged to the Riviera Owners of America since 1988, the Buick Club of America since 1990, and the Great Lakes Offshore Powerboat Racing Association since 1991. He had restored a 1969 Buick Riviera, and in the summer, took his 26-foot Donzi boat to help patrol boat races on Lake Erie.

Surviving are his wife, Kay (Thomas) Brady of Cortland, whom he married October 21, 1961; a son, Michael Scott (Diane) Brady of Laceyville, Pa.; a daughter, Atty. Sharon Brady of Midland, Mich.; two granddaughters, April and Autumn Brady; a sister, Maureen (Rick) Kugelman of Louisville; a brother, Alan "Skip" (Lorraine) of Vienna; his companion, Jude Leonard of Farmdale; and his great dane Macy.

Preceding him in death are his parents; a sister, Leanne McMillion; and a brother, Daniel Brady.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44483, with Rev. Thomas T. Baumgardner officiating. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church.

Arrangements are entrusted to McFarland & Son Funeral Services Co., 271 N. Park Ave., Warren, Ohio 44481.
