Rev. Job P. Garland was born October 25, 1866, in Belfast township, this county, a son of John and martha Lake Garland, and died September 6, 1934, at the home of his son, Leslie Garland of Laidig. He was aged 67 years, 10 months, and 11 days.
Rev. Garland was reared in Belfast Township.
He was twice married, his first wife being Luemma Clevengter. Some years after her death he was united in marriage with Mrs. Bessie Clevenger, nee Sipes, who died a year ago.
He is survived by three children born to his first marriage, Oscar Garland of Hustontown, Reda Hampton of Needmore, and Leslie Garland of Laidig. Two brothers also survive, Rev. Thomas P. Garland of Carverrsville, Pa., and John A. Garland of Gapsville, Pa.
He had been a minister of the Christian church for a number of years preceding his death.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 10, at Pleasant Grove Christian church, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
