Younger son (of two) of Dr. Joseph Parker Ball, Sr. (b: c.1832 in Penn.; d: c.1902, likely in Kansas) and Lillie A. (Gibson) Ball (later married name: Groves) (b: 1874 in Jasper co., Missouri; d: aft.1925, almost certainly in Independence, Kansas).

His older brother, Joseph Parker Ball Jr., was actually killed in action in France in World War I, on November 1, 1918.

It seems that Walter Clinton Ball never married.
