Clark Benson BERGSTRESSER passed away on Wednesday morning, April 28, at his home in Waterfall. He was afflicted with cancer of the liver, followed by grippe.
Clark, as he was called was son of Lewis and Rachel BERGSTRESSER, deceased, and was born within a hundred yards of where he resided and died, February 16, 1852, hence was 74 years, two months and
twelve days. He was united in marriage with Ellen KESSELRING and to their union were born three sons and one daughter as follows: Harvey, Hays, Edward, and Muda. Harvey and Hays preceded their father to the grave; Edward resides in Oneco, Fla., and Muda married to Hayes WITTER and resides in Shippensburg. He is survived by his widow who is quite feeble. Mr. Bergstresser was one of those extremely quiet, good citizens, of whom any community can be proud. He was a miller by trade, having milled at the Bergstresser grist mill for years and years, until his health failed. The esteem in which he was held was shown by the large number of friends at his
funeral. His son Edward was not able to be present at the funeral which was held on Sunday at the home, Rev. C. Gail Norris officiating. Interment was made in Bethel cemetery."
