Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Connor's chapel with the Rev. Gordon Patterson of Helena officiating. Burial will be in the Deep Creek cemetery.
Mr. Barthule was born July 16, 1884, in Russia. He came to Townsend from Melstone in 1929 and operated farms in the Townsend area until his recent illness. His wife died in 1938.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Willam Duede of Townsend, Mrs. Jim Wilson of Melstone, Mrs. Paul Van Meter of Lexington, Ohio, and Betty Everett, who is now in Japan; and seven sons, Alex and Fritz of Spokane, Jake of Seatle, Dave and George of Chicago, John of Helena and Robert who is now serving in Korea with marines.
