Mrs. Briggs Dies at 83

Mrs. Cordie Briggs, 83, a 60-year Potosi resident, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Hendrick Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for the past 25 days.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Potosi Baptist Church with the Rev. John W. Price, pastor of Potosi Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. H. S. Callahan, pastor of Potosi Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ed Wood Jr., Ted Briggs, R.B. Donald, Donald Briggs, James Briggs, Jerry Tate.

Mrs. Briggs was born Dec. 29, 1883, in Auburn, Tex. She married C.C. Briggs in Auburn in 1901. They moved to Potosi in 1907.

She was a member of the Potosi Methodist Church.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Ed. Wood, 317 Sewell, Mrs. W.T. Donald, Potosi, Mrs. D.V. Nesmith of Lubbock and Mrs. Joe Petree, El Centro, Calif; three sons, Cecil of Canyon, Odell of Wylie and J.M., 1449 Jeanette; two sisters, Myrtle Brigman and Mrs. Lvy Sisk, both of Maypearl, Tex.; five brother, Erastas, Y.J. Harvey, Louis and Henry Brigman, all of Maypearl; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
