A joyful reunion was held as Edith Emily Crouch Casper joined her husband, parents, all of her brothers and sisters, her daughter, one grandson and one great grandson.
Reluctantly we let her go with a full and grateful heart to our Heavenly Father for his sublime plan of salvation and the sealing powers of the temple blessings.
Edith died on January 12, 1999 at the age of 88, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She lived all of her life in the Salt Lake Valley.
She was born March 2, 1910 in Salt Lake City to Franklin Ernest and Mary Ann Milne Crouch.
She spent her early years growing up near the University of Utah.
She attended Roosevelt Elementary and Granite High School.
She worked for many years as a secretary at the Deseret News Press and after her father died spent many years caring for her mother.
She married Keith Clark Casper, Sr. on May 6, 1947 and became the instant mother of eight.
Marilyn, Irene, Valerie, Patsy, Diane, Keith Jr., Carolyn and Dennis.
She later had a daughter of her own, Dixie.
Edith has worked in many areas of church service as teacher, secretary and presidencies on both a ward and stake level.
She has done countless hours of genealogical work and temple service.
She has been faithful in all church callings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, her parents, three brothers and two sisters, a daughter, Irene Papenfuss (Joe), a grandson, Craig Papenfuss, and a great grandson, Samuel Elijah Nelson.
She is survived by her eight children, Marilyn Copley (Carl), Bellevue, Washington; Valerie Retallick (Roy), Altamont, Utah; Patsy Alston (Harold); Diane Sutton (Warren); Keith Jr. (Rhea); Carolyn Walkingshaw (Gary), all of Salt Lake City; Dennis (Midge), Ogden; and Dixie Nelson (Larry), Salt Lake City; 35 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Mother loved to study the scriptures, accompany her husband on the piano as he sang, attend the temple, travel and be with her family.
She was always there at the important times in our lives. She had an uncanny ability to remember names and dates.
