Hargrove Berard, a retired U.S. Air Force staff sergeant and a retired group administrator for Medical Associates in New Orleans, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge. He was 78 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge.

He is survived by two sisters, Melba Lawrence and Charmaine Warmsley; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Bernard and Jo Bernard; a brother, Paul Bernard; a brother-in-law, Calvin Lawrence; his companion of many years, Helen Butler; and many nieces and nephews.
He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Redlands, and his master's degree in business administration from Pepperdine University, Malibu, Calif.
