Mr. Walter Baucom, 68 years of age, died Sunday night at 11 o’clock at the home of his son, Mr. P. S. Baucom, in Benton Heights, after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Baucom had spent his entire life in this county and was a worthy citizen.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Jane Forbis Baucom, four sons and three daughters. The sons are P. S., H. B., W. W. and R. B. Baucom; the daughters are Mrs. Charlie Haigler, Mrs. Horace Newell and Miss Ella Baucom.
Funeral was held at Shiloh Baptist church at three o’clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hoover Goodman and Rev. Mr. Huneycutt. Interment was in the Shiloh cemetery with McEwen’s in charge.
