October 3, 1940, he married Anna A. Roberts, the blind daughter of the late Capt. Beauregard Roberts and his second wife, Blanche A. Meaut Roberts. Anna was 33 years old and the groom was 79. She was a talented musician and frequently performed. She died 7 years after her marriage, in 1948, and was buried in the Old Biloxi Cemetery. Her mother was interred next to her in 1970. Her father is interred in Mobile with his first wife.
A. C. COLLIER DIES - Alonzo C. Collier, 89, died this morning at 1:05 a.m. at the VA Center Hospital. He is a native of Leatherwood, Ohio and enlisted April 13, 1917 and was discharged June 14, 1919 as a private 141st Field Artillery. Mr. Collier is survived by two sons, Earl M. Collier, Paridise, La., and Ashton of New Orleans. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Mr. Collier had been in Biloxi about 10 years and was the widower of Anna Roberts Collier, who died 16 months ago. (Biloxi Daily Herald (16 May 1949)
