Mrs. Betty Flowers Roberts

Mrs. Betty Flowers Roberts, age 85, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on January 4, 1931 in Florence, South Carolina. She was the loving daughter of the late John Holly and Bryte Magill Flowers. She was raised in Florence until the age of ten when the family moved to Charleston. Betty was a 1949 graduate of North Charleston High School. On January 7, 1951 Betty was united in marriage to Edward F. Roberts at the Charleston Heights Baptist Church. This happy union of 60 years was blessed with four sons, Edward F., Holly S., David B. and James Orin Roberts. Betty was a Christian woman who was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Betty's working career was in service to God and church, serving as secretary to the pastor in Clinton Mississippi and Charleston, South Carolina. She also served as financial secretary at the Guilford Baptist Church in Greensboro and served as Director of WMU Piedmont Baptist Association. Betty was a charter member of Cooper River Baptist Church in North Charleston; a member of Northside Baptist Church in Clinton, Mississippi 1971-1978; Guilford Baptist in Greensboro 1978-1988; Lawndale Baptist in Greensboro 1988-2011; Rykers Ridge Baptist Church near Madison from 2011-2014; and Sunrise Baptist Church in Midland, Michigan from Nov. 2014 until her death at Midland, Michigan. Betty enjoyed reading her Bible daily, teaching Bible school, teaching Bible study and providing Christian fellowship. Betty died on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 2:50 a.m at the Auburn Heights Assisted Living in Auburn, Michigan.

A LOVING FAMILY
Betty will be missed by her loving sons, Edward F. Roberts. and his wife, Lee of Hanahan, South Carolina, Holly Roberts and his wife Sue of Madison, Indiana, Dr. David Roberts and his wife, Melissa of Midland, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Edward Lee Roberts, Heather Suzanne Roberts Zeitlin, Justin Holly Roberts, Ashley Roberts, Emily Roberts, Luke Roberts, Isaac Roberts, Bethany Roberts; her adoring great grandchildren, Carys Roberts, Mary Baylee Zeitlin, Lydia Grace Zeitlin and Matthew Bradley Edward Zeitlin; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, John Holly Flowers, her mother, Bryte Flowers, her husband of 60 years, Edward F. Roberts, died October 24, 2011, her brother, John Magill Flowers died in 1977, her sister, Sara Louise Flowers Keenan died in January of 2011, and her son, James "Jimmy" Orin Roberts died Nov. 1993.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., by Dr. Paul Brewster at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may call Saturday from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
