Genevieve I. Johnson, 97, Romney, W.V., formerly of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday (4/27/2005). Born, Neligh (9/22/1907) to the late Joseph and Etta (Woods) McCaig. Married Arthur L. Johnson, who passed away Dec. 10, 1991. Surgical nurse and homemaker. Founded the City Mission for Women and Children in Lincoln. Founding member, Garden Club; active member, Presbyterian Women, both Lincoln. Member, Chapter DM of PEO, Lincoln. Greeted guests at Hampshire House since coming to Romney. Survivors: daughter, son-in-law, Jane and Scott Simmons, Romney; son, daughter-in-law, James D. and Jeanne Johnson, Lincoln; grandchildren, Debra Childress, Baltimore, Md., Sandra Grabowski, Michael Conyers, both Roanoke, Va., Jill Johnson, Lincoln, Joy Lloyd, Denver; 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: three brothers; five sisters. Services: 4 p.m. Saturday, McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Romney. Elmwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 3-4 p.m. Saturday, funeral home.
