VELMA B WAID ANDERSON--88: Conneaut, died Tuesday [5-11] at UHHS Brown Memorial Hosp. She was born 5 May 1911 in Monroe, a dau of the late Charles & Anna Knapp Waid. She lived her entire life in the Conneaut area. She worked as a clerk for several years for the JJ NewberryCo & was a member of South Ridge Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School & was a deaconess. For 29yrs, she was treasurer for the Rosemond Missionary Circle & was treasurer of the Ladies Aid Soc. She was preceded in death by her husband George; 3 sis: Helen Spidell, Irene Cole & Alice Trusdell & a bro: Clifford Waid.
Survivors include 2 children: Jane Simpson & CharlesE Anderson-both Conneaut; 7 grand-children; 12 gr grandchildren & a bro: Robert Waid-LakePlacid FL.
Service will be held Friday afternoon [5-14] at Thompson-Smith Funeral Home-Conneaut with Rev Ralph Emus-South Ridge Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Kelloggsvl Cem. Memorials can be made to WGOJ radio station or Conneaut Station-3 Rescue Squad. There will be a service at South Ridge Baptist Church at a date & time to be announced.
