Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the First Christian Church, Brownstown with Randy Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Griffith Cemetery, rural Brownstown, IL. Visitation will from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials may be expressed to the family. Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown is in charge of arrangements.
Sherrie was born on Thursday, October 17, 1957 in Hillsboro, IL to John L. and Muriel (Harding) Hefley, Sr. She married James L. Thompson, Sr. and they celebrated 38 years of marriage together. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Brownstown.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Thompson, Sr., sons; James L. Thompson, Jr. and John Thompson, mother, Muriel Hefley, brother, Raymond Hefley all of Vandalia, uncle, Jim Hefley and his wife Ann Lou of Hillsboro, mother-in-law, Betty Burnheimer of Brownstown, brother-in-law, Kenny Thompson and his wife Vivienne of Steger, IL, niece, Brandi and her husband Clayton Rhodes of Brownstown.
She was preceded in death by her father, brother, John L. Hefley, Sr., son, Joey Thompson in infancy and an uncle, Jim Harding.
