Homer W. Dice, 72, former president of the Indiana Corn Growers Association, who for many years was a prominent farmer and livestockman in Montgomery County, died Friday morning at the Clinton County Hospital in Frankfort where he had been ill with a heart ailment five days.
Born Dec. 14, 1882, near Crawfordsville, in Montgomery County, Mr. Dice was the sone of James F. and Lillie Ward Dice. He was married twice, first in 1903 to Ethel Sparks of New Ross. His second marriage was in 1932 to Bessie Riggle of Flora, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Meade Willis, Indianapolis; a son, Kenneth S. Dice of near Crawfordsville; a stepson, Thomas Riggle, Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Virgil Manuel, Indianapolis, and six grandchildren.
Mr. Dice, who had lived in Frankfort in recent years, was a sales manager of the Soy Seed Co. of Camden. previously he was sales maanger for an agricultural supply house at Indianapolis.
Mr. Dice was a member of the Masonic Elks, Moose and Modern Woodmen lodges. He also was an active conservationist and member of several conservation clubs.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
