James Akin Dies In Blue Mound Home
James Madison Akin, 76, died Friday at him home in Blue Mound. His death was caused by influenza and complications. He had been ill four weeks.
Mr. Akin was born in Green county, Ind., March 21, 1857. He and Lillie May Moreton were married in Old Stonington Aug. 17, 1898. They moved from Stonington to Blue Mound 26 years ago. He was a blacksmith by trade. He was a member of the Baptst church. He leaves his wife and two children, James Madison Akin, Jr., Blue Mound, and Mrs. Edna May Sands, Brookfield, Ill. Another daughter, Ethel, died in infancy. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Manley and Miss Emma Akin, both of Stonington.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Christian church in Blue Mound, conducted by Rev. Curtis Wright. Burial will be in the Old Stonington cemetery.
