Mrs. Moses Allard breathed her last at 5:30 o'clock Monday morning after an illness of but a few days, Mrs. Allard was one of the pioneers of this section, coming from Fall River in the fall of 1881, and settling with her family on a claim several miles east of town where she had since resided until last fall, when the family moved to town. The funeral was one of the largest ever seen here, attesting the esteem in which Mrs. Allard was held. St. Anne's Society of St. Joseph's church, of which she was a member, was represented at the funeral by almost the total membership. Mrs. Allard was a good, true woman. The metal in her was often brought out during the hardships always a part of pioneer life, but she never faltered. Loving, unselfish, and true to the last, her loss is indeed a hard blow. Mrs. Allard was born in St. Remi, Quebec, Canada, in February, 1832, and was married to Moses Allard forty years ago, in New York state. Nine children, seven daughters and two sons, together with the bereaved husband, survive.
