Ina Anker

Ina Irma Anker, 98, of Cass City, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City.

She was born Nov. 11, 1901, in Pigeon to Jeremiah and Ellen (Krampien) Shantz. She married John A. Anker Nov. 17, 1925m in Owendale. He died Aug. 19, 1962.

She was a member of the Gagetown Church of the Nazarene and Elmwood Women's Extension Club for over 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Norris Anker of Orion, Marjorie Braddock of Chatsworth, Calif., Stanley (Joan) Anker of Saginaw, Howard (Patricia) Anker of Saginaw, Geraldine Brown of Vassar, Donald Anker of Cass City, Audrey (Ralph) Short of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Lyle (Judy) Anker of Cass City, Mary (David) Thayer of Vassar, Cathy Anker of Vassar; 37 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lenora Shantz of Gagetown, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandsons, William Anker, Robert Anker, and Nelson Anker; sister, Eliminda Proudfoot; brother, Clarence Shantz, and son-in-law, Vern Brown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 25, at Krantz Funeral Home, Cass City, with the Rev. Donald K. Ault of Gagetown Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Interment was in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City.

Memorials may be made to the Gagetown Church of the Nazarene or the American Cancer Society.
