Titus, Eulalia, 88, homemaker, died Thursday. Services pending. Floral Haven, Broken Arrow. (Tulsa World)
Eulalia Nadine Katherine (Dumler) Titus passed into her Lord and Savior's arms April 5, 2012 (Maundy Thursday), after a long struggle with heart disease. Eulalia was born "1/24/24" (as she always said) on the family farm in Russell County Kansas near Milberger to David R. Dumler and Sarah (Schwindt) Dumler who died when she was 19. She was the baby of six children and the last of her generation. She was given the name "Eulalia" by a great-aunt who claimed she saved Eulalia's life after complications at birth. She graduated from Russell High School with Bob Dole and attended college in Kansas. Eulalia worked in several banks in Kansas and Colorado, and was working at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Denver when she met her husband of 55 Years, Frank G. Titus. They were married December 17, 1950, at St. Paul's and Frank died suddenly March 8, 2006. They started their married life and raised three boys in Casper, Wyoming. In 1965, Amoco transferred Frank to Tulsa where they lived until they passed. Eulalia was a faithful servant and believer in the Lord and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a Bethel Bible Series teacher before she began attending local video services of a Houston, Texas church. She was an active participant in her children and grandchildren's lives, teaching them to be hardworking, loving and fearless as she had always been. Despite her young sons' misgivings, she traveled to Israel and Egypt in 1968, a year after the 1967 War in the Holy lands. After Frank retired, they traveled for several years and then moved to Tucson, Arizona for the winters to be close to Frank's brother and his wife. After Eulalia suffered a heart attack, they sold the Tucson home and stayed in Tulsa where they could be close to family, but she always loved and missed the warm Tucson weather. She was a member of several garden clubs and organizations, often serving as President. She loved to dig in the dirt, had a special love for her farm land in Kansas and was always concerned about her wheat harvest. She did not work outside the home, but raising her three boys proved to be more than a handful at times. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cared more for others than for her own needs. She saw all three sons graduate from college and grow into successful persons who love the Lord. She spent two years in assisted living and the last days in Clarehouse. Her five siblings predeceased her: Ruth Sarah Dietz, Elma Brack, Albert Dumler, Ferdinand Dumler and William Dumler. She is survived by three sons Steven R. (Clovis Titus), J Schaad Titus (Patricia Neel Titus), all of Tulsa, and Martin E. Titus of Omaha, Nebraska, and seven grandchildren, Matthew R. Titus of Houston, Ryan Franklin Titus of Dallas, Lara Neel (Dee Milroy) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Lisa Neel (Matthew Lewis) of Reston Virginia, Gina Manassero (Adam Manassero) of Austin, Texas, Aaron and Nathan Titus of Omaha, Nebraska. She prayed daily for all and her first great-grandchild due in September. Special thanks to Dr. Insung Kim and her caregivers, Betty Hall, Tremetra Martin, St. Francis Hospice and Clarehouse. A Memorial service will be at First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa on Saturday April 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to First Presbyterian Church, Clarehouse, St Francis Hospice or a charity of your choice.
