Fought for America in Revolution. Enlistment Dec 1775 through 1780 (total of 16 months of enlistments). Engaged in battle of White Plains. Was made Ensign under Capt David McCambly under Colonel John Hathorn. The Secretary of War (1835) listed as drawing a pension as an ensign in the Revolution, in Niagara County.

After the Revolution, lived in Northumberland Co. Penn, five years. In 1789, with his wife and 4 children went to Romulus NY. They were one of the first settlers of Seneca County. In about 1810 he sold his property to Elijah Kenne Jr. (who married his daughter Hester).

He then lived in Newfane, Niagara Co, NY 22 years. (paraphrased from Anna Hayward Merritt Genealogical Library, Vol 2, pages 51 & 52).

Wisner's of America (page 118) quotes a pension record saying Ensign David Wisner was born on 4 Dec 1758 in Warwick NY and died in Newfane NY 18 Jun 1840.
