Cécile M. Corriveau, christened 'Marie Cécile Léopoldine Bellemare', was a native of Grand- Mère, Québec — a small mill-town along the Rivière St-Maurice, now part of the city of Shawinigan. One of 12 children born to Henry and Lydia (Bourassa) Bellemare, Cecile moved to Waterbury, Connecticut as a young girl — where, in the 1930s, she met and married her husband Joe. Together, the couple had three children; and by 1950 they decided to move west, where they established themselves in Pueblo, Colorado.

Cecile Corriveau had been employed for 20 years in the shipping-and-receiving depart- ment at the Pueblo Army Depot, and was a parishioner at St. Leander's Church.

Widowed at age 67, Cecile Corriveau survived her husband by three years and passed away at age 70. She was laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery, beside the man to whom she had been married for more than five decades.
