(per obituary) William T. Baldwin, 61, oldest rural mail carrier in point of service in the Owatonna postoffice staff, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Van Wagener, Tuesday evening at 9:30 o'clock. He was stricken with heart failure while attending a Maccabee party at the Adsit hall and was immediately taken to the home of his sister, where he died a few minutes later without regaining consciousness.
He was born in Marquette, Green Lake county, WI., June 6, 1868, and came here when a boy of ten years. He married Miss Orpha A. Russell December 23, 1893. He has been a resident of Owatonna for 52 years and a rural carrier at the postoffice here for 27 years. Surviving him are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Obert Moe of Havana and Mrs. Russell Thornbrue of Wenatchee, Wash.; one son, William G. Baldwin of Detroit, Oregon; a sister, Mrs. Addie VanWagener of this city, and a nephew, J.H. Buckland of this city.
Funeral services will be held at the home on Spring Road Sunday afternoon at two o'clock with Lieut. Col. E.C. Clemans officiating and interment will be made in Forest Hill cemetery.
