Elsie Mae Horn, 88, of Springfield, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2002 at Sangamon Care Center. Elsie was born November 21, 1913 in Springfield's Historic Goose Town the daughter of Arol and Lavina B. Foster Smith. She married Joseph A. Beneky in 1932; he preceded her in death in 1948. She later married Willard Horn in 1949; he preceded her in death in 1985.
She retired from Becker Library at Springfield College after 22 years of Service. She was a member of Friendly Neighborhood Bunco Club for 50 years. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by three children: Lavina (husband, Joseph) Roberts, Joseph A. (wife, Nancy) Beneky, Kathleen (husband, David) Blakley all of Springfield; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church with Reverend Thomas P. Holinga celebrant. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
