Funeral services were held for Mrs. Minnie Mary Watt, Parshall, Colorado, on Saturday, November 26, 1966, 2 p.m. at the Parshall Chapel, Parshall.

Mr. Willard Taussig was the officiating minister and Mrs. Barbara Mitchell, soloist sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied on the piano by Miss Lynne Mitchell.

Minnie Mary (Berends) Watt was born on her father's homestead in what is now Beaver County, Oklahoma, on November 14, 1888. At that time it was known as 'No Man's Land'. Her father, along with 6 brothers, settled there near Gate City; Okla. Minnie attended the country school there during her childhood and on December 21, 1906, at the 18 years of age, was married to Milton Robert Watt. She and her husband lived near Beaver City, Okla. for many years before moving to a farm near Pretty Prairie, Kansas, thence moving to Greenwood, Arkansas, where she became a member of the Palistine Church. Later they moved to Alva, Oklahoma, and finally moving to Colo. where her husband Milton Robert passed away on Aug. 29, 1960. Mrs. Watt also resided part time in Palisade, Colo., and approximately 3 months ago moved to Parshall, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband Milton and 2 children, a son Benard Edward and a daughter Olive Adeline.

Surviving her are 6 children: Gerald Lloyd Watt of Parshall; Stanley Ellis Watt of Kremmling; Leslie Arden Watt of Grand Junction; Major Charles Robert Watt of Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Okla.; Mrs. Amy Pearl Wheeler of Houston, Texas; and Mrs. Myrtle Luella Ashton of Parshall; 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lola Smith of Dodge City, Kansas and Mrs. Anna Dobson of Hutchinson, Kansas; one brother, George Berends of Garden City, Kansas.

Miss Minnie Mary (Berends) passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 1966 in the Middle Park Hospital, Kremmling, at the age of 78 years and 7 days.

Pall bearers were her grandsons: Larry Watt, Milton Watt, Stanley E. Watt, Ted Ashton, Stan Ashton and Frank Ashton. Interment was in the family plot beside her late husband, Milton Robert, in the Kremmling Cemetery.
