FAYETTE "FAY" IRA NOBLET
Funeral services were held last Tuesday, December 9, for Fayette "Fay" Ira Noblet of Coffee Creek who died at Trinity General Hospital December 6. He was 95 years old.
Trinity Masonic Lodge No. 27 and Father John Lawrence of St. Patrick's Catholic Church officiated at the services which were held at McDonald-Files Chapel with burial in Weaverville Masonic Cemetery.
Mr.Noblet was born September 16, 1891 in Sierra City. He was retired after spending 37 years as the music director for the San Francisco school department. He moved to Trinity County from Oakland and made his home in Coffee Creek in 1962. With his wife, Mr. Noblet also lived part of the year in Weaverville.
He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U>S> Army and also as a civilian employee for Army Intellegence during the war. During that time he traveled around the country as orchestra leader for the John McCormick Orchestra raising money for Liberty Bonds.
Mr. Noblet was a member of Redding Elks Lodge No. 1073 and Trinity Masonic Lodge No. 27. He was a 50-year member of both the Elks and Masons.
He was a member of Weaverville Rotary since 1964 and a recipient of the Paul Harris award for Rotarians. He was also a member of Alimes Temple Shrine in Oakland and the Trinity County Historical Society.
He survived by his wife, Luverne Noblet of Coffee Creek.
