Jeffrey Hobart Bartlett, age 93, passed away July 6, 1994 in Scarsdale, New York.
He was born September 9, 1900 in Laurel Hill, Tennessee to Sylvanus Wales and Teressa Hoggard Bartlett. He married Erma Worley, November 26, 1930 in New York; they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died in 1957.Mr. Bartlett received his BS degree in chemistry from Utah State University, his MS degree from Michigan State, and his doctorate from Columbia University.
Mr. Bartlett worked for Standard Oil of New Jersey for 35 years, before retiring in 1965 with 99 patents to his credit. Following his retirement he continued doing genealogical work. He served as a temple worker in the Washington, D.C. and Salt Lake temples. He founded the Callaway Family Organization and served as its president for six years.
Mr. Bartlett was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including a member of the sunday School Superintendency, a counselor in a bishopric and a member of the high council in the New York Stake.
Mr. Bartlett is survived by two daughters, and one son, Janet B. Moravec, Salt Lake City; Helen (Mrs. John R.) Stone, Scarsdale, New York; James W. Bartlett, Sandy; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Zelda (Mrs. J. Elmo) Packer, Logan; brother, William Herbert Bartlett, Logan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9th, 3 p.m, Hall Mortuary in Logan, where friends may call two hours prior to services. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
