Mary Elizabeth Bills, 92, of Rushville, died Feb. 1, 2009.
Born Jan. 17, 1917 in Fayette County, she was the daughter of Charles Anthony and Cora Mariah (Wilson) Kehl, both deceased. She married Robert Jackson Bills Jan. 7, 1939; he survives.
Mrs. Bills was a sales associate for Avon for 26 years. She was a member of the Martha Washington Home Ec Club, Sunshine Club, Priscilla Art and Literary Club, Rush County Home Ec Chorus, and a member of Raleigh Christian Church since 1940, where she was active in the Ladies Aid and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a 1934 graduate of Orange High School. She had lived at Flatrock River Lodge for one year before her death. She spent most of her life in Rush and Fayette counties.
Survivors in addition to her husband of 70 years include son, Mark (Dena) Bills of Falmouth; daughters, Judy (Phil) Leisure of Rush County and Sheryl (Henry) Wood of Middleburg, Va.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Thomas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Raleigh Christian Church with Tony Augsburger officiating. Burial will follow in Raleigh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moster Mortuary.
