He met and married Miss Annie Harris of North Carolina. He was well educated and was a prominent figure within the community of Richmond. Upon his death, he was survived by his wife, Annie Harris Bowman, sisters, Mrs. Annie B. Lebach, Mrs. Merton Rosenbaum, Mrs. Michael Abrams, and Miss Gertrude Bowman. His brothers, Barney and William W. Bowman. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Simon and Lewis.
He was the grandson of the late Rev. Samuel Breidanbach of Philadelphia. Names were interchangeable as Brudenbach.
