J. J. ANDERSON.
AT AGE OF 82
A member of one the Lake county's pioneer families, John J. Anderson, aged 82, died at 2:30 a.m. today at his ancestral home on Johnnycake Rd. in Concord township after a lingering illness.
He was the son of Eliza Collister and Absalom Anderson and was born Dec. 14, 1854, in the house in which he died. He was of the third generation to own the Anderson homestead, which has been owned and occupied by Andersons since 1808. His grandparents are buried on the farm.
On Oct. 26, 1880, Mr. Anderson and Winnie Wimple were married. Mrs. Anderson died April 10, 1892, and one of two sons, Mark, died in 1897. Mr. Anderson is survived by his elder son, Lee; one niece, Mrs. Roy Barden of Paulsbo, Wash.; one grandniece, Mrs. Adolphe Zohyer of Hartford, Conn.; a grandnephew, Roy Barden of Paulsbo; and three cousins, George Anderson of E. Jackson St., and James and George Hodges of Newbury.
With the exception of four years spent in Painesville, when he lived with his son, Lee, at 169 E. High St., Mr. Anderson had lived all his life in Concord.
Friends may call at the home on Johnycake Ridge tonight and Wednesday. The funeral will be held at the home Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Willis A. Warren, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
