MRS. BEATTY DIES AT 88
Mrs. Minnie Beatty, 88, longtime resident of the Webster City community, died Wednesday afternoon at the Hamilton County Hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Kelly of Stratford officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Minnie Johnson, daughter of Ashbury M. and Alice Johnson, was born March 14, 1876, at Tripp, S.D. When she was a small child, she moved with her parents to a farm near Homer. She attended the schools east of Homer.
She was united in marriage to John Beatty at Boone, Iowa and the couple resided in that community for several years.
Mrs. Beatty later moved to Webster City where for several years she served as manager of the former St. James Hotel. After her retirement, she built a home at 1321 Third St. where she had resided.
She is survived by one brother, Harold Johnson, in Illinois, and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Grace Johnson of Webster City and Mrs. Alfred Axwell of Iowa Falls; one nephew and one niece, Jack Johnson of Webster City and Marcellyn Johnson of Iowa Falls and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers. Mrs. Beatty was a member of the Christian Church of Homer.
