Her parents were William Mercer and Ina M McManners Mercer. Known siblings were Henry Mercer and Sarah Mercer. In 1910, the family lived in Walker County, Texas. In 1920, they lived in Trinity, Trinity County, TX.

Ceola married Floyd Homer Clark about 1929-1930. Known children were Billy Van Clark, John Hardison Clark, Martin Clark and Bennie Frank Clark. In 1930, they lived in Lovelady, Houston County, TX. Floyd's mother (Sarah Elizabeth Brown Clark) and Ceola's mother (Ina M. McManners Mercer) were both widows and lived with them. In 1940 they continued to live in Lovelady. Children were born while they lived in Houston County, TX. Floyd died on Nov. 21, 1965 in Baytown, Harris Co., TX. Apparently Ceola remarried to ? Ables according to the SS Index showing her as Ceola Ables. She died July 13, 1994, possibly in Arizona according to SS Index info. It is not know at this time where she is buried.
