Casper Citzen Found Dead in Bed
John J. Barker was discovered dead Thursday morining when family went to arouse him for the day. Death was due to heart failure and hastened by hardening of the arteries.
Mr. Barker had been employed as a harness maker in the Oscar Heistand Harness Shop for the past ten years. And three weeks ago complained of not feeling well and had but been working three days during that period until death claimed him some time during the night.
John J. Barker was born on March 14, 1855 in Canton, Ohio and was 62 years of age at the time of his death. On September 26, 1876 he was married to Miss Tollevia Cole at Gallatin, Missouri. One child being born to bless this union, a daughter, Maude , who is living in Casper at this time. Mr. Barker was a member of the Baptist church and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hansen of the city.
The deceased was well known among the pioneers of Casper, and the sympathy of the city is extended to the bereaved wife and daughter in the loss of their loved one.
