|Birth: ||Jan. 18, 1884|
Ethel Rose was born the 5th child and 2nd daughter of George Buell and Edith Jeanette (Turney) McGilvra. Two more sisters and one brother came along giving the family a total of 8 children.
She graduated from the Public School of Baraboo in 1901 and is listed among the class of 1901 in the Annual Report and Course of Study of the Public Schools of Baraboo, Wisconsin. She is listed as a teacher the same year. She attended the University of Wisconsin and is listed as a Sophomore in Letters and Science in the 1904-05 Catalog of the University of Wisconsin.
She married on 2 Sep 1905 to Adolph Frederick Meyer and had three daughters. Beth Turney Meyer December 12, 1909, Martha Louise Meyer June 4, 1914 and Caryl Edith Meyer June 24, 1916 (Caryl was called Kay). All three girls were born in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota.
The marriage unfortunately ended in divorce sometime around 1929 and she remained single for the rest of her life. I'm told she passed away before any of her daughters married so never got to see her grandchildren.
Her three daughters were as lovely and accomplished as she was and went on to raise upstanding families of their own.
At the time of her death in 1935 she left her three girls and many other family members, including 6 of her siblings, to keep her memory alive.
