Jac was born July 16, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the seventh child of Herbert George and Etta May Carsey.
Jac married his sweetheart, Joyce Alldredge, in the Salt Lake Temple on August 29, 1957. Jac and Joyce were devoted to each other for 52 years. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their family.
He graduated from Cyprus High School and made his home in Magna, a place he truly loved. Jac served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War spending time in South Korea. He returned home and attended the University of Utah and Westminster College and began his career teaching junior high and high school students the love of music.
Jac taught school for 36 years and private music lessons for many additional years. His school marching bands won numerous awards. Jac was honored as the Granite School District Teacher of the Year. He touched the lives of countless students with whom he imparted the love of music.
Next to his beautiful wife and family, Jac's other true love was playing his "horns" in several bands. His faithful companion, Joyce, was always supportive and proud of his many talents and accomplishments.
Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jac served faithfully in many callings. Some of his favorites were bishopric counselor, scout leader, and serving as a home teacher.
Jac is survived by his two loving sons, Ray (Chris) and Vic (Collette). He is also survived by five grandchildren: Megan (Richie) McDonald, Randy, Madison, Paige, and Grace. His one grandson and four granddaughters were the light of his life.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 West 3320 South. Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center.
Internment: Pleasant Green Cemetery.
