BRISTOL, Tenn. – Lola Jessee Statzer Williams Green, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2009, at the home of her granddaughter in Bluff City, Tenn.
Lola was born on Sept. 6, 1921, in Lebanon, Va., a daughter of the late George Washington and Rosa Bell Tignor Statzer. She lived in the Bristol area, most of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Green, six sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Clark; son, James Darrel Williams; grandchildren, Annette Williams, Michelle Lane and husband Johnny, Robert Williams and Beverly Watkins and husband Winfield P. Watkins III; great-grandchildren, Rachel Lane, Jesse Lane and Brianna Watkins; and sisters, Virgie Elizabeth Olinger and Rosa Nonabell Helton.
The funeral service for Mrs. Green will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2009, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with Jerry Clark and Don Snowden officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday prior to the funeral service. The committal service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in White Family Cemetery, Lebanon, Va.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at Wellmont Hospice House and Dr. "Tom" Townsend for more than 18 years of service and friendship.
