William E. Long, Sr., 62, died Dec. 21, 1988 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Bill was born at Stroud, Oklahoma. He was the son of Harry W. Long, Sr. and Susan Tolleson Long. A Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He received his B.A. from the University of Tulsa and his L.L.B. from the University of Tulsa, School of Law. As a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, he practiced law in Stroud and also served as Assistant County Attorney for Lincoln County. He was employed by Kerr McGee Corp. for 22 yrs and upon his early retirement established a law office in Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Springdale Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and Treasurer for many years.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughter Geri; his son Chip and wife Janet. He is also survived by one brother, Harry W. Long, Jr. Services will be held 11:00 am Fri, Dec. 23, 1988 at Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Chapel, 60th and North Western. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
