Edna L. Gardner
Edna Leasy Harris Gardner died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, in Salt Lake City, Utah, of natural causes.
She was born Sept. 20, 1909, in Baker City, Oregon, to Roland Mox and Ann Miller Leasy. Married Harold L. Harris on July 27, 1928, in Garfield, Utah, later divorced.
Mrs. Gardner received her education in Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School. Attended the University of Idaho in Southern Pocatello, Idaho, where she received her business education. She returned to Salt Lake City, where she worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, moved to San Francisco, California, and worked as the Secretary to
the Directress of Nurses at St. Francis Hospital. She returned to Salt Lake City and worked for Walker Bank and Trust Co.
Married Ronald E. Gardner in Las Vegas, Nevada, December 26, 1952, and moved to Provo, Utah in 1953, where she retired after working 21 years at Utah Savings and Loan Association. She was active and had great interest in all her associations. Past President of Iota Chapter and life member of Beta Sigma Phi, Salt Lake City; past President of Utah County Chapter of Executive Women International; past Queen of Lybia Temple No. 32,
Daughters of the Nile; past Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Utah; member of the Ladies Literary Club of Salt Lake City; Ladies of the Oriental Shrine, past Matrons Circle, past Grands Group, former member of the Ambassador Club, all Salt Lake City. Member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church; The Riverside Country Club; Ladies of Elks; past President of E.W. I.; Royal Nile Club, Crescent Club and Jesters Club, all of Provo.
Survived by grandson, Michael Dean Caldwell, Salt Lake City; two great- grandchildren, Amanda Lee (Darvy) Thompson and Tristan Lee Caldwell, both of Salt Lake City; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Ronald, on December 12, 1980; daughter, Gayle Ann Dartnell; parents and only sister, Myrna L. Hardy.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 27, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Lark in Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
The family suggests contributions to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, through the Convalescent Endowment Fund of Lybia Temple No. 32 Daughters of the Nile, c/o the Recorder: Joann D. Dauma, 273 West 2575 North, Sunset, Utah 84015.
