Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away January 31, 2003 at St. Marks Hospital in East Millcreek, Salt Lake County, Utah after a valiant battle with Pneumonia following a Long-Term Illness.
Jack was born to Mike and Suzie Malaska in Clear Creek, UT Sept 7, 1917. He was blessed with seven brothers and sisters whom he shared a lifetime of good memories and love.
Married Etta LaRaine Gardner July 1, 1950 and spent 53 years happy and partners for all time.
Preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Sulo, Ano, Bill, Laurie, Pearl, Hulda. Survived by his sister, Elsie VanWagonen, Price, UT; many nieces and nephews; wife, LaRaine; son, Mike (Charlene); daughter, Susanne; and granddaughters, Jennifer, Ashley.
Jack's legacy will be his devotion to his family and his love for his granddaughters, Jen and Ash, who were the light of his life and the angels for which he lived.
Jack was a veteran who served his country proudly as a drill sergeant in England during World War II. His professional career was spent with A.M. Castles where he retired, 1983. His lifelong joy came from playing sports, watching sports and celebrating the athletic spirit with Mike in all he participated. His example of good sportsmanship and fair play will be an inspiration to all of us and many young people he coached and supported.
Funeral Services will be Mon. Feb 3, 2003, 2 p.m. Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 1950 E. 10600 S.
Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
