MRS. ALLIE FLORENCE GREEN, known to her friends and neighbors as Ma Green, is pictured in her home at 1146 Case street, where she observed her 75th birthday yesterday.
Mrs. green, whose hobbies are flowers, dolls and fine hand sewing, received the flowers and three birthday cakes as well as many greeting cards.
A native of Alabama, Mrs. Green was asked if she came "From Alabamy with a banjo on her knee."
Mrs. Green admitted she did no, but confessed she was adept at playing that instrument. And then she demonstrated her ability by strumming off a few tunes.
She expressed regret she failed to have her anniversary picture taken with her banjo on her knee.
She has lived at 1146 Case street the last 40 years.
Born in Jackson county, Alabama, Mrs. Green was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Hamilton. She was married in 1898 to James W. Green at Fayetteville, Arkansas. He passed away in 1930.
Mrs. Green is the mother of 10 children, five of whom are still living. They are; Mrs. Grace Rice of Monterey Park, CA; Ben Green of Wichita, KS; Mrs. Florence Jennings of route 4, Mrs. Alice Overby of Webb City and Elmer Green of Washington, D.C.
There are 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Allie is standing on the right, her husband James William Green is on the left, and their daughter Grace Green Shellman Rice is between them. Her younger daughter, Alice Maybell Green Overby is standing beside Allie's mother Annie Blakely Stewart Hamilton, who is seated and holding Grace's son Stanley Otis Shellman.
