Fred Altenberger, Sr, 76 of 607 Huron avenue, a life-long resident of Sheboygan county, died early today at St. Nicholas hospital.
Born June 6, 1872, in the town of Rhine the deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Altenberger pioneer county residents. He was married to Helen Anhalt at Ss Peter and Paul church, Kiel, on Sept. 11, 1900.
The couple operated a farm in the town of Rhine until coming to Sheboygan to make their home 20 years ago. Mr. Altenberger was a faithful member of Holy Name church and was affiliate with the parish's Holy Name society.
Survivors include the widow, five daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Pitsch, Newton, Mrs. Julius (Esther) Brey, Chicago, Mrs. William (Anita) Keonders, Mrs. Walter (Ann) Simonich and Mrs. Fred (Martha) Dottai, of Sheboygan, two sons, Fred, Jr., Sheboygan, and Hugo, Phonix, Ariz., and 13 grandchildren.
One son, Walter, one daughter, Alice, four sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.
